£25,000 Grant to Support Christian Engagement with Asylum Seekers & Refugees (Scotland)

Proposals are invited from Scottish-based charities for a one-off grant of £25,000 to develop an innovative project that promotes Christian engagement with asylum seekers and refugees.

The funding is made available by the Paristamen Charity through its Blue Sky Grants programme to support a one-off initiative or pilot project that explores or strengthens how the Christian community in Scotland responds to the needs of asylum seekers and refugees.

Projects could:

  • be focused on direct support to asylum seekers and refugees by churches or Christian organisations, provided the project incorporates clear education to the wider Christian community on the rationale for this work.
  • be focused more on wider engagement and education around the arguments from Christian theology for support of asylum seekers and refugees, in particular to tackle the hostility towards asylum seekers and refugees. If this is the focus, it should support Christians to engage with policy debates on this issue, for example by training Christians to engage with the media and/or with politicians and/or with discussions in their own communities.

Organisations eligible to apply are:

  • Church/Christian organisations
  • Non-faith-based charities whose main focus is work with asylum seekers and refugees

Organisations must show evidence of expertise both in relation to:

  • theological reflection and education on issues of Christian social action
  • the real lived experiences of refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland

The deadline for applications is the 31st January 2026.
