Ofgem Launches £450 Million Strategic Innovation Fund (UK)
UK energy market regulator Ofgem, in partnership with Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), has launched a new Strategic Innovation Fund to help shape the future of the UK’s gas and electricity networks.
The fund will look to invest £450 million in energy innovation by 2026, and aims to support innovative, ambitious projects which will help accelerate the transition to net zero.
The fund will provide innovative businesses and academics with the opportunity to work with energy networks on innovative projects that will deliver benefits to consumers including reduced energy costs, a reduction in CO2, greater access to energy markets and the opportunity to develop new products, processes, and services.
