Grant News
Charities and organisations in London can apply for grants to support projects that tackle racism, intolerance, hate, extremism, and terrorism.
The funding is provided through the Mayor’s Shared Endeavour Fund. It is managed by Groundwork London on behalf of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), which oversees policing and community safety in the city.
The fund supports community-led projects that aim to prevent harm and build stronger, more resilient communities.
Eligible applicants include:
- Registered charities
- Charitable incorporated organisations
- Companies limited by guarantee
- Not-for-profit community interest companies
- Formally organised community groups
- Voluntary sector organisations
Projects must benefit people in London and focus on at least one of the fund’s priority areas. These include:
- Raise awareness: Help Londoners recognise and critically assess intolerant, hateful and extremist messages, empowering them to reject harmful ideologies.
- Build resilience: Support at-risk individuals in strengthening their psychosocial resilience against radicalisation.
- Promote positive action: Equip Londoners with the confidence and skills to safely challenge intolerance, hate and extremism.
- Enhance prevention efforts: Provide training and support for educators, social workers and other frontline practitioners to prevent intolerance, hate and extremism.
Grants are available at three levels:
- £10,000 to £30,000 for projects in at least one London borough
- £30,001 to £50,000 for projects covering at least three boroughs
- £50,001 to £100,000 for projects working across at least eight boroughs (pan-London), with 50% match funding required
Previous funding has supported projects such as:
- Workshops in schools helping young people recognise and challenge online extremism
- Mentoring programmes for individuals at risk of radicalisation
- Community campaigns promoting inclusion and countering hate speech
- Training for frontline workers to identify and respond to extremist behaviour
Applications open on 23 March 2026 and close at 11am on 8 May 2026. Funding decisions are expected in August 2026. Successful projects will start in September and must end by 31 March 2027.
