Grants of up to £80,000 Available to Improve Sport Spaces (London)

Grants of between £10,000 and £80,000 are available to enhance sports facilities and promote physical activity in London.

The funding is available through London Marathon Group’s Active Spaces Fund to support community groups, schools and other not-for-profit organisations to improve and create spaces where children, young people, and marginalised groups and communities can participate in sport and physical activity.

Projects must support one or more of the following: children and young people, people from ethnically diverse groups, people from lower socio-economic groups, women and girls, people with disabilities , people with long-term health conditions, older people (65+) or the LGBTQ+ community

Funding will support capital and/or revenue projects, including:

  • building or renovating facilities
  • purchasing new or replacement equipment
  • venue hire
  • coaching costs
  • salaries

Priority will be given to projects that:

  • enable the least active children, young people and underserved groups and communities to lead active and healthy lives
  • take place in areas of greatest need, for example, areas with fewer spaces, places and facilities for sports and physical activity or where communities are likely to be affected by high levels of deprivation
  • are delivered by organisations with a close connection to the community they want to support
  • will improve and activate spaces, places and facilities beyond the funding period

Expressions of interest can be submitted at any time. Applications will be informed within 20 working days if they are eligible to submit a full application.  The next deadline for submitting a full application is the 25th September 2025..
