Grant News
Grants of up to £25,000 per year are available for innovative projects that support UK visual art organisations, such as museums, non-commercial galleries, art education organisations, and studio providers, to make art education more inclusive and engaging for young people, regardless of background or ability.
The Freelands Foundation’s Inclusive Practices Fund will support projects that create a sense of community and belonging to help young people in primary and secondary school connect with the arts. Specific attention will be paid to representation of minority ethnic artists and the norms of engagement that may impact young people’s experience.
Projects should meet one or both of the two following areas of interest:
- Investigating engagement
- Nurturing belonging
Projects could take the form of action research, reflective practice, or an opportunity to trial a new or adapted way of working, collaborating with diverse audiences, artists, schools or communities.
The funding is available over one or two years.
Projects delivered in partnership will be considered, eg between a gallery and a school or, group of arts organisations and teachers.
The closing date for expressions of interest is the 19th July 2024.
