Funding to Support UK-German School Partnerships (UK)
UK-German Connection has announced that its Instant Impact and Instant Impact Plus grants are open for applications from schools, FE colleges and youth groups planning UK-German exchange activity. The grants support joint thematic projects, first-time taster trips and trips to revive existing school or youth partnerships.

UK-German Connection is a bilateral organisation supporting partnerships, programmes and opportunities that bring young people in the UK and Germany together. Funding is intended to help young people meet their peers, learn about another culture and take part in collaborative activities linked to a chosen topic.

Grants of up to £ 2,500 are normally available through Instant Impact, and up to £5,000 through Instant Impact Plus. The grant can cover up to 75% of total visit costs, including travel, accommodation, subsistence, joint activities, materials, room hire, visa costs and some virtual or digital activity costs.

Key Highlights:

• Open to primary, secondary and SEN schools, FE colleges and youth groups in the UK and Germany.
• UK applicants must have a partner institution in Germany.
• Visits must involve at least 5 young people, or 8 for Instant Impact Plus.
• Applications are especially encouraged where young people would not otherwise have the chance to take part.
• Rolling deadline, but applications must be submitted at least six weeks before the visit.

Applications are made by downloading and completing the application form and project costings form, then submitting both by email. Applicants are normally notified within three weeks. Funding is paid in two instalments.
