Grants of up to £1,000 Available to Community Cooking Projects (London)

Community-based projects focused on food and cooking can apply for grants of up to £1,000  The funding is being made available the through The Worshipful Company of Cooks of London's Elizabeth Fund, established in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This fund offers financial support for projects that can demonstrate a short-term positive impact, particularly those that might not usually receive backing from the Cooks Charity. Typical awards range from £500 to £1,000, with the grants specifically aimed at start-up projects and those capable of showing an immediate effect.

Eligible applicants must have a connection to the City of London or its neighbouring City fringe boroughs. The grants are intended for one-off projects rather than ongoing expenses and, in exceptional cases, may cover personal cooking equipment for chefs. However, the fund does not support food banks, routine expenditures for existing charities, kitchen refurbishments, or projects that should be funded by government or local authorities. Additionally, kitchen capital equipment is generally excluded unless there is an exceptional need and funds are available for maintenance.

Applications for the Elizabeth Fund must include a detailed project description, objectives, funding justification, and contact information. Interested parties are required to submit their applications via email to the Clerk.

There is no closing date and applications can be submitted at any time.
