Grants of up to £30,000 are available to eligible organisations in nine north and west London boroughs to renovate and repair spaces used to deliver services for children and young people.
John Lyon’s Charity’s Refurbishment Fund offers Small Grants of up to £10,000 for projects costing no more than £10,000, and Main Grants of up to £30,000 for projects costing no more than £100,000.
Priority is given to organisations with annual turnover below £500,000. Schools are ineligible.
Funding can support
- minor or essential maintenance like rewiring, roof repairs, or plumbing;
- upgrades to kitchens, toilets, or communal spaces;
- enhancements to indoor or outdoor activity areas;
- and improvements to accessibility for users.
Equipment purchases, office refurbishments and work already started are excluded.
Applicants need a minimum two-year lease or equivalent for Small Grants, or a five-year lease for Main Grants. Three quotations and relevant permissions are required, and 5% of the grant requested must be allocated for contingency costs.
Applications can be submitted at any time.
Small Grants are considered six times a year, while Main Grants follow a two-stage process and are considered twice yearly, in June and November.
