Constituted voluntary or community groups operating within Greater London can apply for grants ranging from £500 to £2,000 to support events and activities as part of the Mayor's Community Weekend, scheduled from Friday 12 September to Sunday 14 September 2025. This initiative, a collaboration between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Mayor of London, aims to foster community spirit and celebrate the city's diverse neighbourhoods. A total of £385,000 is available for distribution.
The grants are intended to support projects that:
- Encourage local community involvement and positive action.
- Enhance safety, belonging, and trust within neighbourhoods.
- Strengthen relationships and connections among residents.
- Utilise or improve local environments and green spaces.
- Empower young Londoners to design and lead community celebrations.
Examples of eligible activities include street parties, picnics, cultural events, litter picks, and community gatherings. These events aim to build cohesive communities and provide opportunities for residents to engage actively in their local areas.
The closing date for applications is midday on the 30 April 2025. Interested groups must apply online through The National Lottery Community Fund's website, (link below).
