Grant News
The John Lyon’s Charity, which is a grant-giving trust that supports children and young people up to age 25 in nine North and West London boroughs through educational and community initiatives, has re-opened its Cultural Capital Fund (CCF). The aim of the fund is to support Arts organisations delivering high-quality creative activities in schools. Grants of up to £30,000 per year for two years are available to Arts charities that partner with at least two schools.
The programme aims to address gaps in Arts education across by funding partnerships between Arts organisations and schools where Arts are often under-prioritised. The fund targets smaller community-focused charities with a proven record of delivering outreach and cultural enrichment in education.
Eligible organisations must be registered charities with Arts as their core activity and operate within the Fund’s designated Beneficial Areas: Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, and the Cities of London and Westminster.
Applications should demonstrate strong school engagement, focus on inclusive and large group participation, and support diverse music and dance activities reflecting local communities. Funding can cover staff salaries, specialist practitioners, and project management costs.
The fund will prioritise face-to-face activities and projects that add value to the school curriculum, particularly in areas facing social or cultural deprivation. Schools involved do not need to contribute financially but must show commitment through other means.
The closing date for applications is 9 January 2026. Applications will be reviewed at the March meeting of the Grants Committee.
