New £6.5 Million Fund Launched to Tackle Inequality (London)

A new £6.5 million funding programme has opened for community-led organisations in London that provide free social-welfare advice and challenge the systems driving inequality. The scheme targets groups supporting people facing housing insecurity, welfare disputes, debt, employment issues and immigration barriers, while backing work that pushes for lasting structural change.

The programme offers two multi-year funding options. Development grants of £75,000 over three years will help organisations build capacity, test new approaches and strengthen their foundations. Larger transformation awards of £200,000, £300,000 or £450,000 over five years are available for long-term work, including programme delivery, organisational development, collaboration, campaigning and strategic investment.

Funding can support a wide range of activity, from staff costs and advice services to community organising, data and insight gathering, and work that amplifies the voices of those directly affected by injustice. Designed for flexibility, the programme offers core support that helps organisations respond to changing demand while building long-term resilience.

The scheme is delivered by City Bridge Foundation through its Access to Justice Fund, which aims to strengthen advice services and advance social justice across the capital.
