London Community Groups to Benefit from £5.6 Million Climate Justice Programme (London)

City Bridge Foundation will open the first round of its new Climate and Environmental Justice programme for applications on Monday 6 July 2026. City Bridge Foundation is London’s largest independent charity funder and is also responsible for five bridges over the Thames.

The programme will support community-led work that tackles the unfair effects of climate change and environmental problems in London. This includes issues such as heat, damp, flooding and pollution.

The fund is aimed at organisations that are based in, led by, or closely connected to communities most affected by these problems. This includes low-income communities and communities facing wider inequalities.

A total of £5.6 million is available in the first round. The programme will provide five years of core and flexible funding, which can support running costs as well as project activity. Small and medium-sized organisations with annual income below £1.5 million can apply.

Funded work must benefit Londoners in one or more of the 32 London boroughs and/or the City of London. Projects should help local people lead the work, use their own experiences to shape solutions, and influence future decisions.

Key dates:

  • Full guidance will be published on Monday 29 June 2026.
  • A webinar and Q&A will take place on Tuesday 30 June 2026.
  • Applications open on Monday 6 July 2026.
