The London Community Foundation has opened the third round of the Mayor’s Violence Against Women and Girls Grassroots Fund, with £5.7 million available for specialist organisations supporting victims and survivors across London. The fund is delivered on behalf of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime.
Individual organisations can apply for three-year grants of up to £150,000, while partnerships of up to three organisations can apply for up to £180,000. Funding will run from February 2027 to January 2030.
Examples of activity that could be supported include:
- specialist domestic abuse or sexual violence support;
- advocacy, casework and practical support for survivors;
- tailored support for Black and minoritised women, disabled or neurodiverse women, LGBTQ+ women, younger or older women, and women affected by trafficking or prostitution;
- prevention and early-intervention work addressing the causes of VAWG;
- extending specialist services into areas or communities where provision is limited;
The fund can also support organisational development where this strengthens frontline VAWG provision, including capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, partnership working and service development.
Key highlights:
- Applicants must already provide VAWG services and have operated for at least three years.
- Funded work must be delivered in London.
- Organisations with income below £500,000 will be prioritised.
- At least 60% of funding will support specialist organisations led by and for Black and minoritised women and girls.
- Other priority groups include disabled, LGBTQ+, younger and older women, women with no recourse to public funds, and victims of trafficking.
Applications require an eligibility check followed by a full online application. The deadline is 2pm on 4 November 2026.
