Higher Technical Education Skills Injection Fund Opens for Applications (England)

The Department for Education in the UK has launched a new funding round of the Higher Technical Education (HTE) Skills Injection Fund.  The fund which aims to enhance the implementation of Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs). HTQs are technical courses at levels 4 and 5 that equip students from diverse backgrounds with advanced skills required for well-paying jobs such as software developer or construction site supervisor. This new funding will enable colleges and other educational institutions to offer more HTQs by providing financial support for specialised equipment, facilities, and staff training.

A total budget of £48.8 million has been allocated for the financial years 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025. The fund is divided into two categories:

£29.8 million for capital funding

£19 million for resource funding

The fund is open to all providers interested in delivering HTQs, including:

  • Institutes of Technology (IoTs)
  • Further Education (FE) Colleges
  • Higher Education (HE) Institutions
  • Independent Training Providers
  • Consortia of Eligible Providers

Applications for the fund must be submitted by 11.59 pm on the 21st July 2023.
