Grant News
Organisations in Derbyshire, including community groups, charities, faith groups, and parish councils, can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 to establish or enhance Warm Spaces in their local areas.
Administered by Derbyshire Voluntary Action on behalf of the county council the funding aims to provide residents with safe and welcoming environments during the winter months, particularly addressing the challenges posed by rising energy costs and fuel poverty.
Grants can be used for:
- additional energy costs
- furniture and improvement to facilities
- additional staffing costs to cover extended hours
- additional cleaning costs to ensure compliance with health protection guidance
- activities and refreshments
- additional activity costs
This funding opportunity arises from a growing recognition of the impact of the cost of living crisis on local communities. By providing financial support for Warm Spaces, Derbyshire County Council seeks to alleviate some of the pressures faced by residents during colder months
The closing date for applications is the 31st January 2025.
