New Levy Funding for Gambling Harms Prevention (England, Scotland & Wales)

Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in England, Scotland and Wales are invited to submit expressions of interest for a new funding programme aimed at reducing gambling-related harms.

The VCSE Gambling Harms Prevention & Resilience Fund aims to establish an independent, public health-led approach to preventing gambling-related harm in those most at risk.

The funding is provided by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, using funds from a new statutory levy on gambling operators.

Funding will be allocated across three strategic strands:

  • Core Prevention Delivery Fund: This will focus on the provision of direct prevention activities to prevent or reduce gambling harms
  • Innovation & Evidence Fund: Funding for new, adapted, or emerging prevention approaches
  • VCSE Resilience & Systems Capacity Fund: Funding support packages to strengthen the VCSE sector’s ability to deliver sustainable prevention activities that reach intended cohorts

Successful applicants will deliver evidence-based prevention activities such as:

  • social action
  • awareness campaigns
  • education
  • campaigning
  • training
  • support programmes
  • support for affected others
  • gambling blocking tools

The deadline for expressions of interest is 12pm on 9th January 2026.
