Grant News
BCP Council has announced that applications are open for the BCP Crisis and Resilience Fund. It is designed to help Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) residents facing financial hardship and to build longer-term financial resilience.
The £4.78 million fund will support households facing sudden financial shocks—such as unexpected bills or loss of income—through crisis payments, housing support, and services that improve long-term financial stability.
Available funding includes:
- one-year grants from £500 to £7,500 for eligible groups
- multi-year grants of up to £15,000 a year for three years for organisations with a proven track record, with annual maximums linked to organisational expenditure
- support for costs such as staffing, volunteer expenses, equipment, venue hire, transport, goods and a reasonable contribution to overheads
Funded work may include community meals, food and cooking initiatives, holiday activities for low-income families, advice services, drop-in hubs and projects that help reduce energy costs. Grants cannot be used for direct cash awards to households.
Eligible applicants include registered charities, constituted community and voluntary organisations, CICs limited by guarantee, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, and community benefit societies.
This programme distributes part of the funds allocated by the UK government’s Crisis & Resilience Fund to BCP Council. This is a three-year scheme running until March 31, 2029. It replaces the Household Support Fund and Discretionary Housing Payments, which ended on 31 March 2026.
Applications must be submitted online via Dorset Community Foundation by midday on 4 June 2026, with awards expected in mid-June.
