The Essex Community Foundation has announced that grants of between £1000-10,000 are now available for projects that empower local people, enabling them to create lasting change within their communities. The funding is being made available through the Comic Relief Local Communities Programme. During 2013 he Foundation are particularly interested in projects run by community groups which increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation. Under the programme, organisations can apply for funding to increase local services, build skills of local people, increase community cohesion and respond to local economic needs. Applications can be submitted at any time until the closing date of 2nd March 2015.
