Funding to Promote Science in Schools (UK)

The Royal Institution has re-opened its Science in Schools scheme which is aims to support science education in state-funded primary or secondary schools, academies, and maintained schools across the UK. The programme aims to enhance children's science education, meet teachers' Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, engage families in science education, and raise funds for participating schools.

The Science in Schools grants are awarded annually and provide participating schools with free visits from professional presenters, which are valued at £800. These visits are designed to enhance science education for children in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and Key Stage 3.

The initiative is supported by several foundations, including the Gillespie Endowment, Bain Capital, The Kusuma Trust, Clothworkers' Foundation, and the JS Cohen Foundation.

The closing date for applications is 6pm on the 12th June 2023.
