Funding for Research into the Prevention of Modern Slavery (UK)

Grants of up to £100,000 are available for research projects addressing the prevention of modern slavery.

The funding is made available by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council, in partnership with Modern Slavery PEC, which expects to fund up to six projects run by UK universities or research organisations working collaboratively with third sector organisations.

The aim of this call is to generate new evidence on how policies and practice can improve the prevention of modern slavery with links to:

  • homelessness
  • poverty and cost of living
  • cultural competency
  • prevention and identification of child trafficking

Projects may run from June 2023 and must finish in either November or December 2023.

The deadline for applications is 4pm on the 6th April 2023.

The Modern Slavery PEC will hold two webinars to discuss this funding opportunity. The webinars will cover the aims and objective of each project, and you will get a chance to ask the Modern Slavery PEC team any questions.
