Rewilding Innovation Fund (England, Scotland and Wales)

Rewilding Britain, a charity that works to restore nature, has announced that the next funding round of the Rewilding Innovation Fund is now open for applications. The fund provides up to £15,000 to support innovative rewilding projects across Britain.

The Rewilding Innovation Fund will support organisations that are part of Rewilding Britain's Rewilding Network (applicants may join at the point of application) and that are working to apply the principles of rewilding to benefit nature, climate and people.  This includes, but is not limited to, community, private and public landowners and managers of rewilding areas on the land and sea.

Applicants are encouraged to take an innovative approach to land and marine rewilding, which will help develop learning and evidence for others within the Rewilding Network.

Projects must be at least 40 hectares in size, and can be either land-based or marine. Marine based projects can be any size.

So far the Fund has supported 35 rewilding initiatives.  Successful applications have included a carbon capture project, a seagrass restoration study, a tree seeding experiment, the development of a rewilding strategy, a feasibility study and a community consultation.

The closing date for applications is the 30th August 2024.
