Grants Available to Assist Vulnerable Individuals with their Housing Needs (Cambridgeshire)

The Cambridge Building Society Community Fund is offering grants ranging from £2,500 to £10,000 to non-profit organisations engaged in charitable activities related to homes or housing.

Projects must demonstrate a clear connection to homes and housing. This could include:

·       Enabling access to housing and homes for all

·       Tackling homelessness issues

·       Supporting vulnerable people with their housing needs

·       Providing housing advice and guidance

·       Assisting vulnerable individuals and families into a home

·       Incorporating sustainability initiatives that promote long-term thriving in their homes

Additionally, the fund offers a limited number of multi-year grants of up to £10,000 per annum for up to three years, and one-off capital donations of up to £20,000 for larger capital projects.

Eligible applicants include non-profit organisations operating within a 15-mile radius of The Cambridge Building Society's branch and store network. Applications from charities or community groups already in a Community Partnership with The Cambridge are not accepted.

Established to make a tangible difference in the community, The Cambridge Building Society Community Fund focuses on innovative solutions to housing challenges. By collaborating with community partners, the fund seeks to improve access to shelter and housing for those in need.

Previous beneficiaries include Cambridge Cyrenians, which received £10,000 to assist 25 residents in transitioning to permanent accommodation, and CHS Group, awarded £6,983 to support 30 women facing homelessness and mental health issues.

The fund has two application deadlines annually: 1st May and 1st November. Interested organisations can apply by completing the online application form available on the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation's website.
