£5 Million Funding Programme to Revive Unused Historic Buildings (UK)

The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) have announced a three-year partnership programme to revive unused buildings and support regeneration in some of the country’s most deprived communities.

This new partnership will expand the current AHF’s Heritage Development Trust Programme by making £5 million of new funding available across the UK to support a range of community-led organisations such as social enterprises and charities to set themselves up Heritage Development Trusts with the aim of developing historic buildings from which Tusts can generate income, including banks, shops and former schools.

The Heritage Development Trusts will receive three-year revenue grants of between £55,000 and £70,000 per annum, along with expert guidance.

Trusts will also be eligible to apply for project viability grants and project development grants.

Expressions of interest should be submitted by 9am on the 26th June 2023.
