Match Funding Campaign to Support Arts & Culture Charities (UK)

The Big Give, in partnership with Figurative Philanthropy for Arts & Culture, has opened a match funding campaign to support arts and culture charities working to create positive social change across the UK.

The funding will help organisations run their own seven-day online Arts for Impact match funding campaign in March 2026.

Charities can choose from two funding streams:

  • Raise up to £7,500 in public donations, matched 1:1
  • Raise up to £30,000 in public donations, matched through a pledge model (with up to £15,000 in Champion funds available)

The initiative supports projects that use arts and culture to improve health and wellbeing, education, mental health, social cohesion or welfare.

To be eligible, charities must have an annual income of at least £25,000. Funding can be used to support project or core costs. Capital projects will not be funded.

In 2025, over £1.2 million was awarded to arts and culture charities.

Those interested in participating must submit their application by the 17th December 2025.

The types of projects that could be supported include:

Health and wellbeing: Projects that use regular arts activities (such as music, drama, dance or visual arts) to help people feel better physically and emotionally, for example by reducing loneliness or improving quality of life.

Education: Projects that use the arts to boost learning and engagement, for example programmes that help disadvantaged children and young people build skills, confidence and motivation in school or training.

Mental health: Projects that offer creative sessions in a safe, structured setting so people can express their feelings and support their mental health, without needing clinical treatment.

Social cohesion: Projects that run arts activities or events which bring different groups together, helping people to connect with each other and feel part of the same community.

Welfare and inclusion: Projects that use arts activities to support people who are struggling or disadvantaged, helping them develop skills, confidence and a better quality of life, alongside other forms of practical help.
