Independent Age has opened applications for its £1.6 million Boosting Advice Fund 2026, a funding programme to help registered charities strengthen advice services for older people experiencing financial hardship across the UK. Independent Age is a UK charity dedicated to tackling poverty and inequality in later life through free advice, information and grant-making.
The fund offers multi-year support to registered charities providing high-quality advice to people aged 65 and over, with priority given to organisations delivering face-to-face services, either alone or as part of a blended model, and those working in areas of greatest need.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong track record in advice delivery. Funding will support projects that help older people maximise income, reduce essential living costs and improve financial wellbeing, including assistance with benefit entitlements, housing costs, debt issues and access to wider financial support.
This year, the fund will support projects in:
England
- Kingston upon Hull
- Nottingham
- North London – boroughs of Camden, Islington and Haringey
Scotland
- Argyll and Bute
- Highlands
- Na h-Eileanan an Iar
- Orkney
- Shetland
Wales
- Wrexham
Grants will be for a three-year period and eligible organisations will be able to apply for:
- up to £150,000 (£50,000 per year);
- or a shared total of up to £210,000 (£70,000 per year) if applying in partnership with (an)other organisation/s.

The closing date for applications is 2pm on Wednesday 25 February 2026.
