Grants Available for Financial Literacy Projects (Yorkshire and the Humber)

Grants of £20,000 to £50,000 are available through the UK Financial Literacy Foundation Grants Programme 2026-2027. The UK Financial Literacy Foundation is a grant-giving charity that works to advance knowledge and skills in financial capability and capacity, particularly among young people and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The programme will support UK-based, formally constituted not-for-profit organisations delivering projects that improve financial literacy as an intentional outcome. Applicants must have two years of audited or independently examined accounts, reserves below £5 million, relevant experience, and a robust safeguarding policy.

This round focuses on projects delivered in Yorkshire and the Humber, including Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Hull, Wakefield, and York. For a full list of eligible areas, see the UK Financial Literacy Foundation website. Target beneficiaries are:

  • primary-aged children aged 5 to 11;
  • offenders and ex-offenders;
  • looked-after children and children at risk of care, up to age 17.

Funding can cover project costs, core costs needed to deliver the project, and capital expenditure where required. Capital costs are not expected to exceed 25% of the overall project cost. Priority will be given to projects that offer capacity building, scalable models, and a proven track record.

Applications involve a self-assessment checklist, an Expression of Interest and, if shortlisted, an invited full application. The EOI deadline is 2 August 2026. Full applications are due by 27 September 2026, with decisions expected in December 2026. Projects must not start before January 2027.
