Applications Open for Blood Cancer UK’s 2025–2026 Innovative Pilot Grants (UK)

Blood Cancer UK has opened applications for its 2025–2026 Innovative Pilot Grant scheme, designed to support researchers pursuing novel ideas that could transform blood cancer research.

The scheme offers awards of up to £30,000 for projects lasting up to 12 months. Funding is intended to generate pilot data that can help researchers secure further investment from larger Blood Cancer UK programmes, other funders, or industry partners.

Applications are invited for projects aligned with the charity’s overarching goal of ensuring no one dies from blood cancer or the side effects of its treatment.

Proposals should focus on at least one of three priority themes from Blood Cancer UK’s new strategy:

  • Prevention – understanding and reducing risks of blood cancer.
  • Early detection and predicting outcomes – improving diagnosis and prognostic tools.
  • Treatment – developing and refining therapeutic approaches to improve patient outcomes.

Applicants must also outline the potential benefits for people living with blood cancer.

The charity is particularly encouraging early career researchers to apply.

Applications close at 3pm on 27 November 2025. Outcomes will be announced in February or March 2026.
