The National Lottery Community Fund is inviting organisations to join the development stage of the Community Power Fund, a new £100 million programme over ten years designed to help communities across England take greater control of local decisions and services. Up to £1.2 million will be provided to support 10 to 15 partner organisations in this initial phase.
Community power is defined as enabling communities to have influence over where they live and the services they rely on. Selected partner organisations will lead or expand initiatives that strengthen this influence, especially for excluded, marginalised, and underrepresented groups. The programme aims to identify effective strategies, overcome obstacles, and establish sustainable approaches for building community power.
Eligible applicants include voluntary and community organisations, registered charities, community interest companies, and charitable incorporated organisations. Schools, statutory bodies like local councils, and community benefit societies can also apply if their projects benefit the surrounding community.
Grants will range between £50,000 and £80,000 for each organisation involved.
Interested parties must submit their expressions of interest by the 5th February 2025.
