Life Sciences Hub Wales, in partnership with the Academy of Medical Sciences, is inviting applications for the Innovation in Women’s Cancer Accelerator Fund.
The initiative aims to improve outcomes and experiences for women affected by cancer.
UK-registered organisations, including project teams or departments, are encouraged to apply for grants of up to £10,000 to develop innovative, long-term solutions.
Project teams could include (for example):
- Academic and Research Institutions – University-led teams working on cancer research, diagnostics, or treatment innovation.
- NHS and Healthcare Providers – Clinical teams developing new patient care models or improving existing services for women’s cancer.
- Life Sciences and MedTech Companies – Organisations specialising in medical technologies, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology solutions for cancer care.
- Charities and Non-Profit Organisations – Groups working to improve awareness, support, and access to cancer care for women.
The types of costs supported include:
- travel, accommodation and mobility costs to bring together new collaborations
- venue hire
- expenses for advisors or contributors in project scoping or delivery including PPI costs
- consumables and project-related costs to support ongoing initiatives in delivery
- training that helps support activity outputs
- cost for staff time
The funding will support cross-sector, multidisciplinary collaborative projects, which must include at least one Welsh-based partner.
Awardees will also access practical support from Life Sciences Hub Wales and the Academy of Medical Sciences.
Applications close at 12pm on the 21st February 2025.
