The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is offering up to £2.6 million to appoint a learning and development partner for the Better Futures Fund (BFF).

A single organisation or consortium will be selected to provide guidance, resources, training and opportunities for shared learning to help voluntary organisations and other stakeholders design and deliver Social Outcomes Partnerships (SOPs).

Applicants must demonstrate expertise in SOPs, experience of delivering accessible learning programmes and an understanding of approaches to tackling child poverty.

The grant will be available to the successful applicant as follows:

  • up to £300,000 in the financial year 2026/27
  • up to £550,000 in the financial year 2027/28
  • up to £550,000 in the financial year 2028/29
  • up to £600,000 in the financial year 2029/30
  • up to £600,000 in the financial year 2030/31

The lead applicant must be a charitable, philanthropic or benevolent institution, and the amount requested in any year must not exceed 50% of its average annual income over the previous two years.

The funding will support activity in England between October 2026 and March 2031.

The £500 million BFF is a 10-year UK Government programme designed to support up to 200,000 vulnerable children, young people, and their families. Managed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, it uses "Social Outcomes Partnerships" to deliver measurable improvements, such as better school attainment, improved youth employment, and reduced reoffending.

The Better Futures Fund Learning and Development Partner Competition closes to applications on 10 August 2026.
