Grant News
The ISPO Impact Foundation has launched its new Impact Fund to support non-profit organisations using outdoor recreation and sport to protect nature, widen access and create social and environmental change.
The Foundation supports initiatives that connect people with the outdoors while promoting environmental stewardship, inclusion and participation. The fund is open to non-profit organisations worldwide, including UK charities, clubs and community organisations. Individuals cannot apply.
Four levels of funding are available:
Micro Donations – up to €2,000
Small-scale grassroots activities such as outdoor equipment for community walking, cycling, climbing, or paddling groups; transport to help under-represented groups access outdoor spaces; and small conservation activities such as litter picks, tree planting, or habitat maintenance.
Seed Grants – up to €10,000
Early-stage projects or pilots such as testing inclusive outdoor activity for disabled people, women and girls, or low-income communities; piloting local nature restoration; or setting up community cycling, running, hiking or adventure sport projects.
Momentum Grants – up to €30,000
Projects with evidence of impact that are ready to grow, such as expanding inclusive outdoor sport into new locations; scaling youth outdoor participation; or extending biodiversity or climate adaptation projects at outdoor recreation sites.
Impact Grants – up to €100,000
Larger, transformative projects with significant reach, such as programmes improving inclusive access to outdoor sport across a region or country; large-scale restoration of landscapes, waterways or recreation environments; or national or international initiatives tackling barriers to outdoor participation.
These examples are indicative, based on the fund’s published themes and grant levels, rather than a fixed list of eligible activities.
Funding can support two themes: nature conservation and environmental stewardship, and active participation and inclusive access. Eligible activities include biodiversity restoration, responsible stewardship of landscapes and waters, climate adaptation, circular economy projects, and work to remove barriers linked to gender, ethnicity, ability, income, sexuality or background.
Applications for the first round close on 30 June 2026. Shortlisting is expected in early September, with final decisions due by mid-October and funded projects announced at ISPO in Amsterdam in November 2026.
