Ofcom, the UK’s telecommunications regulator, has announced that the Community Radio Fund has re-opened for applications.
A total of £206,280 is available in this funding round to help support the core costs of running licensed community radio stations. Grants can be awarded to support:
- Management
- Fundraising to support the station
- Administration
- Financial management & reporting
- Community outreach
- Volunteer organisation and support.
Grants can only be made to community radio licensees in the UK who broadcast under a community radio license. Grants awarded in the past have ranged from £4,320 up to £33,854. These awards included £16,500 for a Deputy Station Manager/Promotions Manager at GTFM, Pontypridd, £7,504 for a fundraiser at Eden FM, Penrith, and £2,160 for a Listener survey at KCR, Keith.
