Wales and Africa Grant Scheme Re-Opens to Applications (Wales)

The Welsh Government’s Wales and Africa Grant Scheme 2022 -25 has opened for applications from community groups and organisations throughout Wales that work with partnerships in Sub Saharan Africa.

This funding round will award grants of £1,000 to £25,000 to support and encourage civil society, business and public bodies in Wales to take action on poverty in Africa that make a tangible contribution to issues such as health, lifelong learning, climate change and environment and sustainable livelihoods.

Initiatives that could be supported include:

  • Community-led, income generating cooperatives that have benefit to Wales and Africa;
  • Engaging the public through Fair Trade campaigns, advocacy or policy;
  • Activities that bring the consumer closer to the producer in a sustainable way;
  • Support to small-scale agricultural projects and activities; and
  • Support to grassroots income generating activities.

The closing date for applications is the 4th November 2022.

In order to apply to the Wales and Africa Grant, applicants will need to register with WCVA’s Multipurpose Application Portal (MAP). Those organisations that have previously registered with MAP, can log in by entering their username and password on the home screen.

Organisations can register by visiting the website: map.wcva.cymru
