Funding Scheme to Create ‘Tiny Forests’ (Wales)

Landowners and managers (including not-for-profit organisations and private owners) can apply for funding to create ‘Tiny Forests’ in Wales.

The funding is available through the Coetiroedd Bach / Tiny Forests in Wales grant scheme, which is part of the Welsh Government’s National Forest Programme. The programme aims to create a network of publicly accessible woodlands and forests, particularly in urban areas, that will connect people with nature, help mitigate the impacts of climate change, and provide a nature-rich habitat to support urban wildlife.

Grants between £10,000 and £40,000 are available for one site (up to £250,000 for multiple sites) to organisations, communities and individuals with ownership or management control of small parcels of land who want to create new small woodlands managed in collaboration with the local community.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on the 8th May 2024.
