Grants of Up to £250,000 for Local Nature and Food Growing Projects (Wales)

Not-for-profit organisations (including educational establishments) in Wales can apply for grants of up to £250,000 for environmental or food growing projects. The funding is being made available through the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Local Places for Nature Capital Fund.

This is a capital grant scheme intended to enable communities to acquire, restore and enhance local nature.

This funding is primarily for:

  • projects located or servicing the needs of communities in the 50% most deprived areas, or
  • community food growing projects anywhere in Wales, or
  • organisations/groups representing a diverse ethnic community from any part of Wales

Projects can last for up to 1 year and the grant will cover 100% of the total costs, such as:

  • purchasing trees, shrubs, and land
  • equipment
  • labour costs
  • site preparation

The next closing date for applications is 12pm on the 12th July 2024.
