Grant News
Schools in Wales can apply for grants to help to broaden students' cultural experiences by visiting high-quality arts events and activities. The funding is made available through the Arts Council of Wales Go and See Grant and can be used to cover costs related to visiting theatres, galleries, and other cultural venues such as transport, tickets, and accommodation, allowing schools to plan trips to theatres, galleries, and other cultural venues.
The grant aims to enrich students' creative education and support schools in fostering an interest in the arts. This aligns with the Arts Council’s mission to promote arts education, accessibility, and engagement among young people.
Schools eligible for the Go and See grant can apply for up to £1,000 per trip, enabling them to access the funding necessary for meaningful cultural visits. The grant's flexible structure allows for multiple applications, provided the funding remains available,
The initiative supports primary and secondary schools, as well as pupil referral units within Wales, encouraging them to create opportunities for students to experience the arts in an immersive, hands-on manner that may otherwise be inaccessible due to financial constraints.
Currently open for applications, the Go and See grant is accepting submissions on a rolling basis, meaning there is no fixed closing date, allowing schools to apply as their event plans materialise. Applications are submitted via the Arts Council of Wales’ online portal, where schools provide details about the intended visit and outline the anticipated benefits for students.
