Taith International Exchange Programme Extended until 2028 (Wales)

The Welsh Government has extended the Taith International Exchange Programme, launched in September 2022, to run until 2028.

The grant aims to break down barriers to global learning. It supports international mobility for learners and staff across Wales, including those with additional learning needs, helping to broaden horizons and strengthen global collaboration

Grants are available via two distinct pathways:

Pathway 1 funding supports international exchange of learning through the outward (participants going from Wales) and inward (participants coming to Wales) mobility of either groups or individual participants.

Pathway 2 funding supports educational innovation through Welsh-led international collaborative partnerships which address a specific issue or sector priority in Wales.

Organisations from schools, youth, adult education, further/higher education and youth work are eligible to apply.  The programme has introduced a new proportional system to help smaller bodies, like local schools, submit applications more easily

The total Welsh Government budget for Taith stands at £65 million over several years, and in the most recent round 145 applications were submitted—nearly double the previous record of 87.

Both Pathways are currently closed for applications and it is not yet clear when the next round will open. Applicants should use the Taith website to access application forms, guides and deadline information.
