Grants Available to Improve Community Facilities in Coalfield Areas (Wales)

Voluntary and community organisations in former coalfield areas of Wales can apply for capital funding to improve local facilities.

The Coalfield Community Capital Grants programme is delivered by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust with support from the Welsh Government. It supports projects that safeguard, improve or maintain community buildings and spaces benefiting local people.

Grants of £500 to £7,000 are available for costs including repairs, refurbishments, energy efficiency measures, and equipment purchases.

Applicants must have an annual income of less than £500,000 and own the facility or hold a lease of at least five years.

To be eligible to apply, organisations must be based in:

  • Blaenau Gwent
  • Bridgend
  • Caerphilly
  • Carmarthenshire
  • Flintshire
  • Merthyr Tydfil
  • Neath Port Talbot
  • Powys
  • Rhondda Cynon Taff
  • Swansea
  • Torfaen
  • Wrexham

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with decisions typically made within 12 weeks.
