The Greggs Foundation, the charitable arm of the well-known bakery chain Greggs plc, is currently accepting applications for its Community Action Fund, with Round 3 closing at noon on 8th May 2026.
Not-for-profit organisations can apply for up to £20,000 per year for up to three years, making this a potentially significant and sustained source of support. The fund is designed to help community organisations address direct local needs, provide food and support, reduce social isolation, and build knowledge and opportunity. Crucially, it also covers core running costs such as bills, salaries, and HMRC costs.
For this round, applications are only open to organisations based in or delivering services in
- Stevenage (SG2),
- Swindon (SN2),
- Newcastle upon Tyne,
- East London (E16).
Eligible applicants must be independent, not-for-profit organisations with an annual income between £25,000 and £1,000,000, in operation for over a year, and holding free reserves of less than six months' running costs.
Previous recipients include Big League CIC in Hartlepool, which provides emergency support to those in crisis; Brighter Futures Rhyl, which tackles social isolation and poverty in North Wales; and RAMA in Essex, which supports refugees and asylum seekers.
