Grants Available for Participatory Community Arts Projects (Wales)

Voluntary and community groups in Wales can apply for grants of between £500 and £1,500 to run one-off arts projects that encourage people to get involved in creative activity.

The funding is provided by the Arts Council of Wales through the Creative Communities Fund to support small, participatory projects that reflect Wales’s diversity of culture, language and society.

The fund aims to reach diverse communities, particularly those with limited creative opportunities or those underrepresented in the Council’s funding.

Supported artforms include carnivals, festivals, circus, craft, dance, drama, literature, music, opera, theatre, and visual arts.

Activities must be led by an experienced artistic collaborator, and should focus on participation rather than the outcome. This could include workshops, murals, musicals, dance, photography or bilingual theatre and must be led by an experienced artistic collaborator.

Applications can be made at any time. Applicants should allow at least eight working weeks between submission and the project start date.
