Grant News
The National Lottery Heritage Fund is now accepting applications for Round Six of the Nature Networks Fund. This aim of the fund is to improve the resilience of Wales’ network of protected land, freshwater and marine sites, and to build the capacity of organisations involved in nature recovery.
The scheme is open to all organisations working with natural heritage in Wales.
The funding aims to benefit not only these organisations but also the wider community by enhancing biodiversity, promoting nature’s recovery, and encouraging community engagement with protected areas. Grants awarded range from £250,000 and £1 million per project.
Fundable activities include habitat restoration, species recovery, landscape connectivity work, community engagement initiatives, and capacity building for organisations.
The fund is open to proposals that demonstrate clear plans for improving protected sites or surrounding areas in Wales. Applicants are required to show that they have or are working towards obtaining the necessary permissions and consents.
Projects should mainly focus on capital works, although related revenue costs can be included to support delivery.
Expressions of Interest should be submitted by 5 August 2026. Applicants successful at this stage will be invited to submit a full application.
