Welsh Organisations Invited to Apply for Digital Health EU Funding (Wales)

The Welsh Government has announced that Welsh companies and organisations can access research and development funding through the UNITE European Digital Health Valleys project.

The Welsh Government is the devolved government for Wales and supports economic development, public services and international collaboration. Wales has joined UNITE as a regional partner, giving Welsh organisations access to a Horizon Europe-funded programme that aims to reduce Europe’s digital health divide and support healthcare innovation.

The scheme will support the development, testing and scale-up of digital health solutions. Welsh SMEs, health boards, universities and innovation bodies are being encouraged to engage early, form partnerships and prepare project ideas linked to healthcare challenges.

Key points include:
· the Welsh Government has secured more than £700,000 to support participation in the scheme;
· it is the first EU grant secured by the Welsh Government since Brexit;
· the programme will connect industry, healthcare providers, academia and the public sector;
· priority challenges include ageing populations and workforce pressures.

Potential applicants can find out more through a free webinar on 3 September 2026, from 11am to 12pm. Organisations can also contact Business Wales or email HorizonEurope@gov.wales for information on wider Horizon Europe opportunities.
