Grant News
Sport England has announced the availability of its Movement Fund to support community organisations affected by recent extreme weather events, specifically Storms Bert and Conall. The fund aims to assist in the swift restoration of sports facilities and activities disrupted by such incidents. Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to £15,000 to cover emergency costs necessary for resuming operations.
The funding is designed to aid a variety of not-for-profit entities, including voluntary groups, community clubs, registered charities, community interest companies, and public bodies such as local authorities and educational establishments.
The type of costs the funding can be used for include:
- skip hire to remove sediment and rubbish
- minor electrical works to restore power
- decontamination works or clearing of blocked drains
- cleaning work to get showers and changing rooms back up and running
- securing buildings.
Priority for funding will be given to sports and activities that require immediate recovery to continue operations. Spring and summer sports, or those with activities not scheduled for several weeks, will be considered lower priority.
There is no application deadline.
