Grant News
Grants of up to £5,000 are available through the Stansted Airport Community Grant for projects that deliver lasting benefit to local communities most affected by the airport’s operations.
The Fund supports projects within a ten-mile radius of the airport, from village halls and sports pitches to wellbeing charities, green spaces and community facilities.
Charities, community groups and other not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.
The funding supports:
- Projects which are of special help to specific social groups. For example, voluntary youth groups (scouts, guides, youth clubs), the elderly or disabled
- Projects which support community life in general such as improvements to facilities such as village halls
- Infrastructure which supports community use
- Projects that support community drama, art, music and sporting/leisure activities
- Environmental and conservation schemes that support access to the countryside / outdoors
The fund supports tangible items of lasting benefit, such as equipment and furniture. It does not fund running costs, maintenance, venue hire, salaries or other consumables.
Schools are not eligible to apply unless they can evidence that there is benefit to the wider community (i.e. those who do not attend the school). Statutory bodies may only be supported where they can evidence that the project falls outside their statutory responsibilities.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 13th February 2026.
A Flagship grant of up to £50,000 for larger, capital projects is also awarded each year.
