UK teachers can apply for grants of up to £1,000 to visit a German school and gain insights into the German education system. The grants can cover up to 75% of the costs of a one- or two-week visit during the autumn, spring, or summer term 2025-26.

The UK-German Connection Professional Enrichment Programme will give teachers the opportunity to develop their professional skills and knowledge, and will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, insurance, and supply teacher cover.

Applicants do not need to be German teachers to apply, and a matching service is available for those not already in contact with a German school.

 The next closing date for applications is 11 December 2026 for visits in the Summer term 2027.
