Funding for Community Radio Stations (UK)

Ofcom, the UK’s telecommunications regulator has announced that the Community Radio Fund has re-opened for applications until 5pm on the 4th January 2024. 

A total of £190,587 is available to help support the core costs of running licensed community radio stations. Grants can be awarded to support:

  • Management
  • Fundraising to support the station
  • Administration
  • Financial management & reporting
  • Community outreach
  • Volunteer organisation and support.

Grants can only be made to community radio licensees in the UK, who are broadcasting under a community radio license. Grants awarded in the past have ranged from £2,160 up to £19,717 with the average grant being £14,292. These awards included: £16,500 for a Deputy Station Manager/Promotions Manager at GTFM, Pontypridd: £7,504 for a fundraiser at Eden FM, Penrith and £2,160 for a Listener survey at KCR, Keith.
