Funding to Improve Local Youth Facilities & Services in Deprived Areas (England)

Local authorities and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for a share of over £300 million in funding to create, expand and improve local youth facilities and services currently on offer to young people in underserved areas of England.

The UK Government’s Youth Investment Fund will award up to 300 Refurbishment Grants of up to £150,000 for the refurbishment of youth facilities to help improve the health, wellbeing, skills, and opportunities for young people aged 11–18 (up to 25 for young people with SEND). This could include community youth spaces, youth centres of different sizes, and activity centers.

The capital funding will support smaller refurbishments such as roof works, accessibility adjustments, insulation, new doors and windows, plastering, and damp proofing.

The Youth Investment Fund has two application routes: one for large, medium and small size buildings, extensions, and renovations over £150,000 and one for smaller refurbishments below £150,000. There are separate application processes for both grants.

The deadline for applications is midnight on the 9th June 2023.

Any grants awarded by the Youth Investment Fund must be spent and accounted for by 31st March 2025.
