Funding to Grow Community Businesses - Deadline Extended (England)

The "Trading for Good: Community Business" grant programme offers a Match Trading grant of up to £4,000. This grant, funded by the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), is designed to support community businesses in England aiming to grow their trading income and create positive social or environmental impacts.

The programme was introduced to bolster community businesses by providing financial support and a comprehensive learning and development programme. The goal is to help these businesses become more resilient and capable of adapting to changing environments while generating income to be reinvested in their communities. The programme includes expert insights, peer-to-peer learning, and a network of support to aid participants in developing a sustainable community business.

Eligible uses for the grant include activities that contribute to increasing trading income, such as business development, marketing, and operational improvements. Participants are also expected to engage in the learning programme covering financial resilience, leadership, and community engagement.

Applicants must be based in England, have an income under £100,000, and aim to grow their trading income. The programme is intended for organisations established for one to five years and committed to benefiting their local communities.

The grant is provided by the School for Social Entrepreneurs, a charity dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs in tackling societal issues through innovative and sustainable businesses. 

The deadline has been extended until the 7th August 2024.
