AI for All: New Grant Opportunity for UK Charities Promoting Inclusive Technology (UK)

The Different Foundation has announced that it will launch its flagship initiative, "AI For All"  on the 1st May 2025.  This initiative is aimed at fostering inclusivity within the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. This programme seeks to ensure that AI development benefits from diverse perspectives and serves all communities equitably.

Eligible UK charities with an annual turnover between £150,000 and £1.15 million will be able to apply for grants of up to £2,500. The foundation has allocated a total funding pool of £100,000 for the 2025/2026 cycle. The grants are designed to support projects that address digital bias, amplify the voices of underrepresented individuals, and develop AI technologies that are inclusive and accessible. In addition to financial support, recipients will receive mentorship from established AI professionals to enhance project outcomes and organisational capacity.

In addition to financial support, the Foundation will connect funded partners with respected leaders in the field of AI. This mentorship will provide practical guidance to enhance impact, improve program delivery, and strengthen organisational capabilities.

The need for such initiatives is underscored by the growing recognition that AI systems can inadvertently perpetuate existing societal biases if not developed with diverse input. By supporting organisations that prioritise inclusivity, the foundation aims to contribute to the creation of AI solutions that reflect and serve the full spectrum of society.

The closing date for applications will be the 30th June 2025.
