Funding for Medical Health Charities (UK, Isle of Man & Republic of Ireland)

Registered charities, hospices and medical organisations within the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland can apply for grants to support medical projects, care, research or medical training.

The funding is provided by the Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF), a long-established UK grant-making charity that distributes charitable grants from the surplus generated by its trading arm, HSF Health Plan. The fund’s aim is to strengthen healthcare provision and improve outcomes for people with medical needs.

HSF offers two main levels of organisational funding.

  • Standard grants are typically awarded at up to £2,000 (or €3,000),
  • Larger grants of up to £10,000 (or €13,500) are available for more substantial or clearly defined projects, such as specialist equipment purchases, service development or research initiatives.

In addition to organisational grants, the Hospital Saturday Fund also supports individuals living with medical conditions or disabilities. Individual applications must generally be made by a supporting professional or organisation on the applicant’s behalf. Funding can assist with the cost of specialised medical or mobility equipment, therapeutic aids and certain home adaptations that are directly related to medical need. Awards for individuals are usually capped at lower amounts, and payments are made directly to suppliers.

Organisations can apply for a standard grant by the 13th April 2026, or a large grant by the 16th March 2026.
